The Catherine White Holman Wellness Center is a place for those who identify anywhere on the gender non-conforming spectrum to access respectful, and dignified holistic health care. Volunteer run, it aims to be a low barrier center; many services are accessible on a drop-in basis, The CWHWC started in April 2011, when Registered Nurse Fin Gareau organized a sexual health clinic for non-gender conforming people at Youthco. With the help of MD Marria Townsend, this clinic was so successful that they continued this work and the center grew organically adding a support worker and a Registered Massage Therapist to their team. Now the center runs out of 1145 Commercial Drive and offers a variety of services including counseling, herbal advice, hormone injection equipment and education, STI/HIV testing/treatment, peer support and massage therapy.
All proceeds of this fundraiser will go to supporting this project.
